This process (stealing color) affords me the ability to work with a certain vocabulary of color harmonies, while being able to paint in a way that matches more closely, the way I draw. This work reminds me of elements from a landscape.
This painting falls under my Vacuous Fluff category of work. These works are intended to provide the viewer / participant with an empty space where, like a tuning fork, they can open themselves to harmonic sensory arrangements, that trigger an aligning and cleansing of energy fields. The consonant or dissonant arrangement of colors and abstract forms can cause a psychological (and subsequently physiological) response in the viewer, stimulating an expansion and deepening of consciousness.
This work became the "sheet music" for a piece called Synesthesia Suite Part 2: Landscape. Find out more about this music here.
